Fostering deep thinking & conducive conversations for a sustainable future
South Africa, as a Party to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD), has made a resolute commitment to protect and preserve its rich biodiversity.
In line with this, they participated in the negotiations for the finalisation of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), striving to create a sustainable future for generations to come.
The 3-day event explored the implementation of the 30% conservation target by 2030 for protected areas in South Africa. This significant gathering provided a platform to discuss strategies and actions needed to enhance conservation efforts and ensure the effective management of crucial ecosystems.
With inspiring remarks from DFFE Deputy Director General, Mohlago Flora Mokgohloa, the stage was set for meaningful collaboration and collective action. A special closing from the Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa (Contralesa) added to the impact of the event.
Our Role
Our role was to support the Workshop by fostering an environment conducive to deep thinking and quality conversations. In a consulting capacity, we played an advisory role in the design and facilitation of the workshop, ensuring that all voices were heard and valued.
Justin Kiley, our guide on the side, skillfully enabled and created a thinking container where participants could engage in meaningful dialogue.
Rave Reviews
The success of the workshop was met with enthusiastic feedback from the participants. Louise Duys Walker, Project Manager at WILDTRUST, expressed gratitude for our contribution:
"Thank you for the incredible role that you played at the workshop to lead and hold the space for best thinking and ultimate collaboration. This workshop was the beginning of new and important conversations held in a new way, and for that, you can be immensely proud!”
